A Story Box Full Of Regret
I often speak about the main goal of my life being to empty my story box of regret before I die. It’s an actual box filled with stories in various stages of development. Ideas written on scraps of paper, composition notebooks loaded with concepts and outlines, and completed stories that only exist in paper form–written pre-computer on an Underwood typewriter, circa 1950–as I haven’t gotten around to the laborious task of transferring them to computer.
Among the stories you’ll pluck from the box are a multi-dimensional twin sister; a man afflicted with a curse brought about by the waxing of earth’s hidden moon; a battle between the forces of good and evil waged in a bathtub; an alien coming of age tale; a modern day fairy tale about clay and the power of love; the consequences of a racial wish granted; the hazards of being a blood donor. Oh yeah, and Lucifer Morningstar.
Sally Forth And Be Writeful
Whether you believe this thing we call talent can be developed through learning or that it is an inheritable trait, the one truth you can bank good money on is this book will not magically bestow upon you the gift of perfect writing.
Nor does it contain a sure-fire method of plucking your story from the ether and transforming it into a bestseller. It also doesn’t glue your butt to the seat and hardwire your genius directly into the computer. Writing is donkeywork and guess what? You’re the donkey.
What you will find here are inspirational and motivational messages, along with tips and techniques to help you understand the basics of writing and possibly help you develop a routine that keeps you positively writing from the start of your project right up to the part where you type, “The End.”
Babasiotaam: Blogging About Befriending Absolute Strangers In Order To Attract A Mate
In 2008, while Kosovo declared its independence, China cracked down on protesting Tibetan Monks, Beijing hosted the Olympic Games and Barack Obama was busy running for President, one Staten Island man calculated his odds of dying alone.
Not that he minded being alone, but there was this odd, hollow feeling in the center of his chest, something he had never experienced before. Loneliness.
The cure was obvious, he’d have to make an effort to meet another living being on purpose, but because he was never ever ever been known to do things the easy way, he decided to turn the process into a social experiment to find out if women were actually attracted to intellect or if they were just as shallow as they claimed men to be.
Well past his sell-by date, he stepped into the world of online dating and attempted to attract a life partner by creating a sometimes humorous, sometimes controversial cyber journal.
This is his journey.
